THE BEST OF BOTH WATER WORLDS

Old Saybrook is uniquely situated on both the Connecticut River and the Long Island Sound. You get sandy beaches and with salty ocean breezes, plus on-the-water activities like boating and kayaking, fishing excursions, River Cruises and more. Our innkeeper can make recommendations based on the season. Beach passes and towels included!

READY, SET, SHOP!

Our very own Main Street offers a number of Mom ’n Pop shops, perfect for browsing and picking up souvenirs. Stroll up and down ’til you find something that strikes your fancy. Plus, Main Street in Essex (one town over) offers another opportunity for shopping, dining and people watching. And if you’re a hard-core shopper, Clinton Crossing outlets are just a few exits away where you can scoop up some deals.

HISTORY ABOUNDS

THE DEACON is just one of many historic buildings in the area. Take a tour of the William Hart House, visit the Connecticut River Museum, check out the Mashantucket Pequot Museum… or simply stroll down gas-lit Main Street and get a taste of true Americana. Ask us for museum or tour recommendations based on your interests.

WHAT'S ON STAGE?

Old Saybrook is home to The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center, fondly known as “The Kate” – and nearby to other theaters like The Goodspeed Opera House, The Ivoryton Playhouse among others. Packages and special pricing may apply… ask us for details.

RAISE A GLASS

The craft beer scene is really taking off, and Old Saybrook is no exception. 30MileBrewing offers free tastings and it’s a quick Uber ride away. Or if you prefer, there are a few wineries closeby, like Chamard Vineyards with its farm-to-table French-inspired menu. Cheers.
